Library Cards
Your Augusta County Library card is free, and it unlocks a lot more than just books. Get yours today — cards are available to all Virginia residents starting at birth.

Get a Card

Apply online or stop by any Augusta County Library location. To complete your registration you’ll need to verify your current address with one of the following:

  • Driver’s license
  • Virginia ID
  • Utility bill showing your current address

For children under 12: A parent or guardian must also apply for a library card and co-sign the child’s application. An Augusta County Library card gives children access to all materials in the system. If you wish to limit your child’s access to any library services, please make that known to library staff.

Out-of-state residents may obtain a temporary card and check out up to two items at a time.

What Your Card Gets You

  • Borrow books, movies, audiobooks, cake pans, and more from any location
  • Place holds and have items delivered to the location of your choice
  • Access the full collections of Augusta County, Staunton, and Waynesboro libraries through the Valley Libraries Connection — three times the borrowing power
  • Use public computers and check out laptops
  • Download free eBooks, audiobooks, and digital magazines
  • Access online databases and research tools

Renew or Replace Your Card

Cards are valid for two years and must be renewed at that time. To renew or replace a lost card, visit any Augusta County Library location or contact us.

Cards can also be renewed or replaced through the myLIBRO app.
